Profi-Line chives 'Staro' is one of the most popular culinary herbs. It is a must-have in every kitchen garden because it replaces the flavor of onions and can be used to enhance many dishes. This chive variety is particularly vigorous and excels in winter forcing on the windowsill with excellent stability, thanks to its thicker and more robust aromatic tubes compared to other varieties. The aroma is strong both in summer and winter. 'Staro' grows well in pots, balcony boxes, raised beds, as well as in garden beds. It prefers humus-rich and nutrient-rich soils in sunny to semi-shaded locations and thrives alongside dill, carrots, and leeks.
